Wollongong is the major city of the Illawarra Region. The cities name is an Aboriginal Word meaning “Sound of the Sea” and is located approximately 1 hours drive south of Sydney. Originally famed for its coal mining and steal production, this region now hosts a lively university, 5 star hotels, guesthouses, galleries and beautiful beaches.
