Singapores Low Cost Airline „Tiger Airways“ will start with flights to Perth in in March 2007. Initially there will be with four flights a week but Tiger Airways is Planning to increase the flights to adaily services permanently from November 2006. So the Visitor numbers from Singapore to Western Australia are set to soar, with low-cost airline Tiger Airways to start flights between Singapore and Perth.
“Singapore is our second biggest source of visitors, so the introduction of Tiger Airways flights to WA is a significant boost to our tourism industry,” Tourism Minister of Western Australia, Sheila McHale, said.
Tiger Airways chief executive Tony Davis said the airline was delighted to be able to offer more than 70,000 seats a year between Singapore and Perth. Perth is Tiger Airways' second destination to Australia. They actually are the only Asian low cost carrier to link Perth with Asia.
Tiger Airways will use 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
