Blairgowrie and its surrounding area offer several ways to enjoy the coast: a five-kilometre beach, the Bay Trail and a pier used for scuba diving and snorkelling. The Blairgowrie Bay Trail runs along the beach through impressive Moonah groves. You can plan your stay around the beach scenery, a walk or bike ride, and time by the water.

Beach and Coastal Arc

Blairgowrie Beach is five kilometres long. In the wider region, a 24-kilometre north-facing arc of long sandy beaches and broad sandy stretches begins there, extending from The Sisters to Martha Point. The five kilometres refer to Blairgowrie Beach itself, while the 24 kilometres refer to the larger coastal arc: two different scales for understanding the landscape.

Toilets are located near Wilsons Road at Blairgowrie Beach; check in advance whether they are available if you need them. Cafés and a supermarket are opposite the beach and offer refreshments. As individual businesses may change, check the latest information before planning a specific stop.

Exploring the Bay Trail

The Blairgowrie section of the Bay Trail is a shared path for pedestrians and cyclists. A short section passes through Blairgowrie’s shops and runs opposite St Johns Wood Road as far as Camerons Bight. Along the beach, the Blairgowrie Bay Trail passes through impressive Moonah groves. The trail thus connects different coastal landscapes with a section through Blairgowrie’s shopping area.

For planning purposes, the path’s use is clear: it is used by both pedestrians and cyclists. You can therefore include it in your plans as a walk or bike ride. The town and coastal sections give the Bay Trail a different focus from a stay spent solely at the beach.

Pier and Water Sports

Blairgowrie Pier is just outside the town and is about 280 metres long. It leads to the marina and a safe boat harbour, and is used for scuba diving and snorkelling. Steep steps lead down to the pier from the car park on Point Nepean Road. Parking conditions may change; check them before setting out.

Nudibranch Wall in Blairgowrie is one of Bayplay Adventure’s dive sites. If you are planning a tour to this dive site, check availability directly with the operator. This lets you include the pier and the named dive site as two specific water-sports options in your travel plans, without assuming that a tour is guaranteed to be available.

Plan Your Stay Around Your Interests

Keep the locations in mind: the beach and Bay Trail are associated with Blairgowrie, while Blairgowrie Pier is just outside the town. This lets you tailor your search to the experiences that matter most to you.
