Eagle Point is a small settlement with distinctive natural features and a popular tourist destination. Lake King, the foreshore and nearby walks give a stay a clear connection to water and landscape. At the Eagle Point Foreshore Hub, several connected facilities take centre stage; nearby, walks and expansive lake views offer different experiences. This distinction can help you plan a visit to the Hub separately from activities outside this area.

The Eagle Point Foreshore Hub

The Eagle Point Foreshore Hub has a large terrace overlooking Lake King and public toilets. Shared paths connect the Eagle Point foreshore, adventure playground, pavilion, toilets and Hub building, without needing to cross a road. Ramps lead to the adventure playground. For families, these paths provide a practical framework: the playground, foreshore, pavilion and toilets can be considered connected destinations when planning. The view from the terrace adds a direct outlook over the lake to a visit to the Hub.

The Hub is also home to the Eagle Point Caravan Park reception and convenience store. If you are considering the caravan park as accommodation, these are two specific facilities located at the Hub. Hub facilities, paths and operator arrangements may change; check the current situation before visiting.

Walks and lake scenery

Natural attractions in the surrounding area include the Mitchell River Silt Jetties. These naturally formed jetties extend 8 km into Lake King, and visitors can walk there from Eagle Point. The waterscape can be seen from two perspectives: at the Hub, the terrace looks out over Lake King, while the jetties form a long landform extending into the lake. A visit to the Hub and a walk to the jetties therefore offer different ways to experience the lake.

You can also walk to Bluff Lookout in the Eagle Point area. Sheltered swimming spots are nearby; check local conditions and suitability before swimming. The surrounding area also offers expansive views over the lake. So, alongside the Hub’s foreshore area, you can choose a walk to a lookout or sheltered swimming spots.

Choose accommodation to suit your day’s plans

The Foreshore Hub is a useful reference point when planning to use the connected paths and adventure playground; walks to the Silt Jetties or Bluff Lookout offer a different focus. Adding a stop for a swim, in turn, changes which parts of the surrounding area you may want to prioritise.
