Mitiamo Between Golf and Landscape

Two distinct attractions give Mitiamo its character: the golf course in town and Terrick Terrick National Park, four kilometres to the north. The silos also shape the townscape as its most distinctive feature; historically, they were a major grain-shipping centre. When planning a trip, you can choose between golf, views and grassland as different experiences.

Golf Course and Season

Mitiamo Golf Course is an 18-hole course with sand greens on mostly flat terrain. If you would like to include golf in your stay, you can plan around these specific features and the seasonal dates: the course is open from mid-April to the end of September. Operations may vary by season, so confirm conditions before you arrive.

Visitors are welcome, and no booking is required. The licensed clubhouse is open on Sundays; operating details may change. Competitions are held on Wednesdays for women and on Sundays. As competition schedules can change, it is worth checking the current schedule before visiting. This will help you plan for a possible clubhouse visit and the competition days.

Summit Trail and Grassland in the National Park

Terrick Terrick National Park is four kilometres north of Mitiamo. A short, steep trail leads to the summit of Mt Terrick Terrick. From the top, views extend across the park and surrounding farmland. The short, steep trail to the summit and exploring the grasslands around the ruins of the Davies homestead reveal two different sides of the park.

Visitors can explore the grasslands by the ruins of the historic Davies homestead. The homestead and its associated grasslands are accessible via Mitiamo-Kow Swamp Road; conditions on rural roads can vary. Check road conditions before setting out. This lets you choose between the steep summit trail and exploring the grasslands around the ruins during your visit to the park.

Townscape and Places to Take a Break

The silos are not only Mitiamo’s most distinctive feature, but also a reminder of the historic importance of grain shipping: they served as a major centre for it.

Mitiamo Tavern at 5 Joffre St offers an outdoor beer garden and indoor seating. As its layout and use may change, check the current arrangements if you are planning a visit. Mitiamo General Store is located at the entrance to Terrick Terrick National Park.

Find a Hotel to Suit Your Travel Plans

For golf, the period from mid-April to the end of September and the competition days are useful planning details. For the park, you can decide whether to explore the summit trail or the grasslands by the Davies homestead ruins. Search for hotels in Mitiamo and compare the locations of the accommodation options you are considering with your planned activities. This way, you can start your selection with the experiences you actually want to focus on during your trip.
